University Press of Kentucky
My main project while at UPK was a succinct, internal document (available on request) on the collected 75-year history of the Press. I also took part in an internal competition called the Social Media Smackdown, where for two separate weeks during my internship I was solely responsible for the creation and deployment of posts for the Press across all social media platforms. In addition to engaging with and reposting relevant content, I created my own images for social media use by combining self-shot photos and Canva templates. The biggest challenge for me was creating engaging, adjustable content to suit the different needs of each platform’s users without bogging down those that followed the Press across multiple sites. To combat that, I tried to keep each post fresh, light, and approachable with a youthful voice, crisp prose, and a few emojis, for good measure.
